 Our Class Schedule

We follow a structured schedule in our classroom so that students become familiar with their daily routine.  When students are familiar with their routine and know what to expect next, transitions become easier for them.  Here is what a typical day in our classroom looks like. Of course, times do change throughout the week to allow for OT, PT, deaf and hard of hearing, and speech services, community based instructional trips, and other special activities.

7:30 – 8:00     Breakfast

                             Pledge and Morning Announcements

 

8:00 – 8:30     Bathroom    

                             Self-help Skills (toothbrushing/handwashing)

                             Work (puzzle/book/coloring)

 

8:30 – 9:00      Morning Circle Time

 

9:00 – 9:30     Morning Work (pre-academics)

 

9:30 – 9:45    Gross Motor Skills (turn taking)

 

 

 

9:45 – 10:00   MeVille to WeVille Lesson (Language Arts)

 

10:00 – 10:15   Music Activity (movement and following directions)
                      

10:15 – 10:30    Bathroom Break

                                 Independent Work (puzzle/book/coloring)

 

10:30 – 11:15    Lunch in Cafeteria

 

11:15 – 11:30   Bathroom

                              Self-help Skills (toothbrushing, handwashing)

 

11:30 – 12:00  Individual Leisure Skills/Rest Period

 

12:00 – 12:30  Pre-Vocational Skills (Independent Work Boxes)

                               Computer Time

 

12:30 – 12:45    Story Time

 

12:45 – 1:00     Art Activity or Group Game

 

1:00 – 1:30     Specials (Music/Art/PE/Cooking/Recess)

 

1:30 – 1:45     Snack Time

 

1:45 – 2:00    Bathroom

                           Domestic Skills (wipe tables/fold laundry/water plants)

 

2:00 – 2:15    Pack up and Departure
